Vaibhav is a Partner at Nishith Desai Associates, one of India’s most respected law firms, where he has built a career spanning over three decades in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, fund investments, and technology law. He heads the firm’s M&A and Private Equity practice and leads its Bangalore office — advising venture capital and private equity funds on investments across e-commerce, technology, media, and life sciences, and guiding companies through some of India’s most significant cross-border transactions.
His practice sits at the frontier of where capital meets emerging technology — structuring deals in sectors that are still defining their own regulatory frameworks. He has been consistently ranked among India’s top technology, media, and telecommunications lawyers by Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, and has represented industry bodies including NASSCOM at international forums including the WTO.
Beyond his legal practice, he serves on the board of TiE New York — one of the world’s most active entrepreneurship networks — actively supporting early-stage founders and the broader innovation ecosystem. He holds a Juris Doctor from Government Law College, Mumbai.
