Shubham Deshmukh

Carbon Projects & Compliance Analyst
Global Emissionairy

Shubham works at the technical and policy frontier of carbon markets — turning complex climate data into the credible frameworks that make decarbonization real.

Shubham is a carbon markets and sustainability professional with seven years of experience spanning climate project development, life cycle assessment, and carbon market policy. His work sits at the intersection of technical rigor and real-world impact — designing credible decarbonization pathways across roadway infrastructure, biochar, regenerative agriculture, and low-carbon building materials.

At Global Emissionairy, he leads product-level LCA and Environmental Product Declaration development for bio-based materials, and advances carbon projects in roadway infrastructure — bridging engineering performance, MRV structuring, and carbon market integrity. At Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy, he co-authored a Bloomberg Philanthropies-funded G20 stocktake of project-based carbon credit markets, and a widely cited commentary on operationalizing Article 6 of the Paris Agreement ahead of COP30.

He holds an MS in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from VNIT Nagpur.

What I’d love to discuss during the event

  • Carbon markets, Article 6, and climate finance are evolving rapidly. What needs to happen for these mechanisms to deliver measurable outcomes at scale rather than remain policy ambitions?
  • Life Cycle Assessments, Environmental Product Declarations, and MRV are becoming central to business decisions. How do organizations turn these from compliance exercises into competitive advantages?
  • Supply chains are being reshaped by geopolitical uncertainty, circular economy commitments, and Extended Producer Responsibility. How should leaders rethink sourcing, resilience, and operating models for the decade ahead?
