Yaju Chauhan has spent more than two decades working on energy systems and building efficiency, with a focus on making large-scale facilities significantly more energy-efficient.
As Senior Principal Engineer for Mechanical, Energy, and Sustainability at Moderna, he applies that experience to one of the most complex environments in modern manufacturing—pharmaceutical production facilities.
His work spans HVAC design, building automation systems, and electrification strategies. These are not incremental improvements, but core systems that determine how energy is consumed across facilities.
Before joining Moderna, Yaju spent fifteen years at Trane Technologies, where he worked as a Senior Energy Engineer, Project Developer, and Project Manager. That experience built a deep understanding of energy systems across commercial and industrial settings.
Yaju’s work focuses on translating technical expertise into practical outcomes—reducing energy consumption while maintaining the operational standards required in pharmaceutical environments.
His role reflects a broader shift. Sustainability commitments in manufacturing are increasingly being delivered not through high-level targets, but through detailed engineering decisions.
