Sneh Kumar

Global Director, Sustainability (& ESG)
Arconic

Sneh makes sustainability tangible through the materials themselves, not just the processes behind them.

Sneh Kumar has spent more than two decades working at the intersection of advanced manufacturing, materials engineering, and building performance—areas that sit at the core of how the built environment evolves.

As Global Director of Sustainability and ESG at Arconic’s Building and Construction Systems division, he leads the development and execution of strategies that make building materials and facade systems more sustainable. His work spans product design, manufacturing processes, and supply chain transparency, reflecting how deeply interconnected these systems are.

Over the course of his career, Sneh has led the commercialization of more than forty high-performance facade products. He also holds multiple patents, underscoring a track record of technical innovation alongside commercial execution.

He has served on the board of the National Fenestration Rating Council, contributing to the standards that shape how building products are evaluated for energy performance. This work extends his impact beyond a single organization, influencing how the industry defines and measures efficiency.

Sneh’s work focuses on this foundational layer—where sustainability is not an add-on, but a property embedded into the materials themselves and the systems they enable.

What I’d love to discuss during the event

  • Buildings account for 40% of global energy use. We’re not going to hit climate targets without transforming how they’re built and what they’re built with. Who in this room is thinking seriously about the materials side of that?
  • I’ve commercialized over forty facade products. The market rarely rewards sustainability performance at the spec level. What changes that?
  • Where does the built environment sustainability conversation get stuck — and what does unsticking it actually require?
