Madison’s path to clean energy policy runs through the cockpit of a CH-53E helicopter. She spent eleven years as a Marine Corps officer — pilot, operations manager, logistics manager, and company commander — before turning that operational discipline toward the energy transition.
Today she serves as Executive Director of the Council on Sustainable Aviation Fuels Accountability, working to develop a transparent and robust global book-and-claim system for sustainable aviation fuels. She also works at AJW, Inc., a firm focused on industrial decarbonization strategy and policy, where she has contributed to research on zero-emission industrial boilers, clean fuel policy, and navigating regulatory uncertainty in the current federal environment.
Her transition into clean energy was shaped by fellowships at the Atlantic Council’s Women Leaders in Energy program and the Clean Energy Leadership Institute. She holds an MS in Environmental Planning and Management from Johns Hopkins and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the US Naval Academy.
