Sreedevi makes Scope 3 emissions measurable and manageable for the world’s largest corporations.

Sreedevi Rajagopalan leads the MIT Sustainable Supply Chain Lab, a research program focused on one of the most challenging areas of corporate sustainability: Scope 3 emissions.

These emissions typically account for the majority of a company’s footprint but remain the hardest to measure and manage.

Sreedevi brings over fifteen years of experience across research, academia, and industry. Her background in supply chain risk provides a strong analytical foundation for her work.

At MIT, she develops data-driven methodologies that help companies move beyond high-level reporting toward actionable emissions management across complex, multi-tier supply chains.

Her work connects academic rigor with real-world application. It reflects an effort to make sustainability measurable and manageable at scale.

What I’d love to discuss during the event

  • Scope 3 is where most corporate emissions live — and where almost all the methodological fights happen. What’s the most consequential thing the field still gets wrong?
  • Companies are reporting Scope 3. Very few are actually managing it. What’s the difference between those two things in practice?
  • What would it take to make Scope 3 data good enough to actually drive procurement decisions at scale?
